Information Sheet – Spring 2008

Welcome to the Spring rowing program.  The information provided below will provide details on the program and a status on items still being developed. Below are listed several documents that facilitate the registration process. They are:

Personnel

Coxswains will be some of the experienced high school coxswains.

Practice

Practice days are still up in the air. The days can be adjusted based on rowers’ availability. Several Saturday morning practices look like they will work for people.

Fees

The registration fee for the Fall is $245 payable to Friends of Shenendehowa Crew, Inc.

The fee includes regatta entry fees entered by Masters for the Spring season. Rowers are responsible for their own travel expenses.  Boat transportation expenses will be masters' responsibility if regattas attended differ from youth regattas.  All rowers must belong to US Rowing. If you are not already a member, the fee for adults is $65 per year.

Signup is on the US Rowing web site listed below. List Friends of Shenendehowa Crew, Inc. as your affiliation. Please provide your number once you have registered. US Rowing membership includes insurance for events on the water and is a necessary supplement to insurance that you already have. There are other benefits, which are detailed on the US Rowing web site:

US Rowing Benefits

Uniform

No, we will not be wearing unisuits. We wear spandex shorts (eliminates interference with the seat and slider) and a “Shen Crew Masters” T-shirt. Ordering details and cost will be arranged if you do not have this gear.
