Varsity

Shen Crew’s Varsity program includes rowers from Grade 10-12.  Varsity rowers have some rowing experience.  Some of the goals of the Varsity program are to improve rowing technique and to improve the fitness level for competition.

Practice takes place at the boathouse on Maritime Drive in the village of Alplaus.  Transportation is provided from the school to the boathouse.  A Shen bus picks up the entire Novice/ Freshman/ Varsity team at the main entrance of High School East, near the new wing.  Practice runs Monday through Friday and ends at 6PM.  Many families form carpools to transport the rowers home.  There are occasional Saturday practices and races.  Several races are within the Capital Region.  Some races are out of town and travel may be required.
